Description:

The six projects carried out for this airport had as main objectives, the followings:

• Determination of the actual bearing capacity by the ACN/PCN method for the runway no. 1, runway no. 2, taxiways: ALFA, BRAVO, CHARLIE, DELTA, GOLF, NOVEMBER, OSCAR (new), OSCAR (old), PAPA, SIERRA, VICTOR and WHISKY, the main platform no. 1, main platform no. 2, track pocket no. 2

• TECHNICAL EXPERTISE and development of the documentation of approval for the works of intervention for rehabilitation of the main platform no. 2
• TECHNICAL EXPERTISE and documentation of approval for works of intervention for the rehabilitation of the PAPA taxiway and widening of the adjacent taxiway intersections  

• FEASIBILITY STUDY for placing and construction of the platform particularly designed for the aircraft DEFROSTING/ANTI-ICING   

• TECHNICAL EXPERTISE and documentation of approval of the works of intervention for the rehabilitation of the DELTA taxiway, including its over-widening, to transform it into a quick release path 

• Verification of the actual bearing capacity by the ACN/PCN method for the aircraft parking platform no. 3

The works were based on the results of the investigations and measurements carried out under traffic on the ground and laboratory tests carried out on concrete, asphalt and soil samples taken from the investigated points. The final results obtained within the respective contracts will lead to saving the periodical maintenance expenses, the increase of the service lifetime of the respective movement surfaces and assurance of flights in complete safety.
